In the premises of the the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Moscow, Rosnor Energo signed an educational contract with RAO UES, the Power Exchange ATS and Center of Infrastructural Research. During the next months Rosnor Energo will arrange seminars and courses on the issue – Competetive Power Markets seen with the experience from the liberalized markets in the World today.
Vyacheslav Sinyugin, CEO of JSC HydroWGC, met with Odd Roger Enoksen, Petroleum and Energy Minister of the Kingdom of Norway, to discuss prospects for cooperation between Norway and JSC HydroWGC in the sphere of hydropower generation.
Norway-based Hydro Aluminium voiced an intention to build an aluminum plant in Russia. The smelter with the annual capacity of up to 600,000 metric tons of aluminum is estimated to cost the company $2 billion. Should Hydro and RAO UES of Russia fail to agree on electricity prices, the Norwegians will construct a plant in Africa or in Western Europe instead.
