This letter presents a study of hydrogen production and export from central Siberia to Western Europe. The intention is to see whether large hydropower resources found in central Siberia can be used for hydrogen production. Western Europe is facing relatively high energy prices and an increased focus on environmental issues. It is assumed that the demand for hydrogen in this area will increase.
This update gives an overview of the Russian power sector and the investment opportunities that have ensued the restructuring of the power market. Renewable energy is one of the most attractive investment opportunities today. Russia is possibly the country with the greatest potential.
